Final Candidate Blog

Hello Chris Royse for Supervisor Supporters! Well, after over a year of campaigning, I cant believe the time is here to begin closing down campaign operations and preparing to transition back to a post campaign life and hopefully, as a result of your continued support and votes on Tuesday November 6th, the next Supervisor from Woodbridge!

The first thing were shutting down is the Candidates blog. This has been a lot of fun and I think that you, the voters, have been able to get some insight into the real Chris. Im always real when Im speaking to you at your doors, at events, or on the phone, but by utilizing this blog space to communicate my thoughts with you as things are actually occurring, youve been able to see what Im thinking at that time, how I respond, and what I plan to do. None of my opponents have provided you with this type of insight during the campaign.

A lot has happened here in Woodbridge over the past year. The two things that resonate most memorably for me were the untimely passing of Firefighter Kyle Wilson and the harboring of one of the assassins of the New Jersey teenagers by three illegal aliens; these things happened here in my neighborhood.

I was the first to lead my opponents by being the first to announce his candidacy and establish a platform which has been copied by them all; except for one thing, illegal immigration. None of my opponents have demonstrated leadership, like I have, on the number one issue in Virginia, Prince William County and Woodbridge, which is illegal immigration. I was the first to speak on behalf of Supervisor John Stirrup's immigration resolution, the first to publicly support the immigration resolution and the only candidate to write a plan which will strengthen the immigration resolution. I did this because of voter input; early on people began telling me that they were no longer going to allow local candidates to side step the issue of illegal immigration by saying it was "the federal government's job;" I heard continuously, "we want action and we want action now!" So, I acted, and the overwhelming positive response to action has been deafening.

If I am chosen by you, on Tuesday November 6th, to be the next Supervisor from Woodbridge, I pledge that I will continue to tackle the tough issues facing Woodbridge head-on, just like I did with the immigration issue. We will return Woodbridge to the safe, immigrant friendly community we all moved here to be a part of and I will continue to work hard with all elected officials to attract high-tech businesses to Woodbridge to support incoming Department of Defense customers.

Thanks for all of your support and God willing, we'll begin working together next Wednesday (yes, even before inauguration) to better our community, as a team.
